Project 7: Band Poster – Du Tonc
For Mark’s challenge I decided to make a poster for Du Tonc, a duo who I’ve been listening to lately. Here’s what I did for the three images- I used woman and adapted her to be more in a more natural falling pose through drawing over the photo. I also added linework to the mountains to tie them back into the figure. Lastly, I took the ink clouds and made the dreamy background texture. Thanks for taking a look and hope you enjoy!

Hey look what friends make! Shout out to my illo buddy Caitlin for being a fun and assertive partner ;) Hope you all like this piece as much as I do!
Challenge 42: Complete Partnership: Caitlin and Casey’s Children’s Book Spread
I think it would be safe to say that Casey and I thought this would be a lot easier than it actually was! Working together consistently required a lot more communication, patience, and compromise than just pasting together two different sections that we worked on separately.
We would each work on the piece for 30 minutes, which was a perfect limit so neither of us could “take over” stylistically, but also made compromising a lot more complicated! It was actually quite funny, because in our last bit of work during Skype, we revealed that we’d both been insecure about our aesthetic coming through. I suppose that means we had actually done a good job with our collaboration!
In the end, I truly believe we brought out the best in each other, because this piece is really exciting! Casey pushed me in ways I hadn’t been pushed in a long time, and this art is a true union of our two illustration voices. Thanks for willing to be pushed, and pushing me back, Casey. This was a great experiment!
Also- just a side note- this process GIF is super cool!

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce my Etsy shop is back up and ready for business with a fun new addition- a 2014 Floral Calendar! This was a project that I had been wanting to do for a while now, and it’s exciting to see it all come together. Each month has it’s respective birth flower and each of them with different shapes and color pallets. Hope you all enjoy as much as I had fun making these!

My latest Letter Society piece-
Project 4: Restaurants Part 1: Links
Hello there everyone! For this particular project I started off thinking of some of my favorite places I like to eat- what kind of food they have, the atmosphere, etc. Some of the common factors I found myself enjoying were New-American cooking, quality meat and poultry, refined rustic styling, and a kick ass bar.
That’s how I thought to do a restaurant that focused on butchery and hand-made sausages.
Soon after came the name and my concept for the logo- I decided on doing a stationary type logo with a venn diagram effect with the various animals that one would find on the menu. The lettering I wanted something simplified that mimicked the shapes of chains or links. The color pallet I also wanted to keep warm and somewhat neutral.
Hope you guys enjoy, and more so, would like to eat at this place!

I’m super excited to share my recent illustration for Light Grey Art Lab’s show 6 Degrees. We were asked to depict something both personal and specific to where we live. I chose to show a favorite spot of Alex and I overlooking downtown Chicago. It’s been a fun illustration to put together and I can’t wait to see all of the other work from the fellow participating artists!
